Frequently asked questions

What is Native American/Indigenous comedy?

Look. Y’all keep asking this question. Let’s explore together for a second. Do we ask other comics this question? Are we labeling this Native/Indigenous comedy because the comics are enrolled? We got as many questions as you. Please help us if you can. We don’t know what to say.

Is your comedy clean?

Yes and no. It’s not our favorite kind of comedy, but if you need it that way, we can provide it.

Why change the name Ladies of Native Comedy?

Naming things is not our strong suit. Deanna named her dog after a Metalocalypse character. Adrianne named the two youngest of her sons, “Three” and “Four.” On top of that, it was truly a rare moment- seriously, once in a blue moon – that anyone could say our name properly. “Native Ladies of Comedy,” “the Comedy of Native Ladies” – we’ve heard it all. To be fair, it’s a mouthful. We get it. We heard you. We changed it. 3 Sisters Comedy- Quick, concise, classic, iconic, strong, Native AF. You’re welcome.

But, what if only two (2) sisters are available for a booking?

My dear, my love, oh no. You think too small. “3 Sisters Comedy” is not named thusly because there are three women in the group. No, he’eh, 3 Sisters is a concept. A movement. An homage to the divine feminine strength. A reminder of power in growing together. A wisdom for sustaining life. It represents what we are as a group. We hold each other up and are better for it. The comedy we bring provides nourishment, some real “Chicken Soup for the Soul” type jokes. Food is Our Medicine and our comedy is, too! To us, at least. Ya’ll get what ya’ll want out of it.

Okay, but how do we market only two (2) sisters?

Real simple. Watch – “Adrianne Chalepah and Teresa Choyguha from 3 Sisters Comedy!” Mix and match for whoever is available to book. Lather, rinse, repeat.
